Nurse Rocky is committed to providing equal access to its CNA training program for qualified applicants and students with disabilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state laws.
Reasonable accommodations
A reasonable accommodation is a modification or adjustment that enables a qualified individual with a disability to participate in the program without fundamentally altering essential program requirements. Examples may include extended time on written assessments, note-taking assistance, accessible materials, or adjusted scheduling where clinically appropriate.
Essential functions
CNAs must be able to perform essential physical and cognitive functions in clinical settings, including assisting patients with mobility, hygiene, and safety. Some accommodations may not be possible if they would pose a direct threat to health or safety or would fundamentally alter clinical competency standards.
Request process
To request an accommodation:
- Submit a written request to Nurse Rocky administration as early as possible—preferably before enrollment or the start of clinical rotations
- Provide documentation from a qualified professional describing the disability and recommended accommodations, when applicable
- Participate in an interactive process to determine reasonable and effective accommodations
- Notify the program promptly if your needs change during the course of training
Confidentiality
Disability-related information is kept confidential and shared only with personnel who have a legitimate need to know in order to implement approved accommodations.
Appeals
If you disagree with an accommodation decision, you may follow the Grievance Procedure to request review of your request.
